Terms of Service

The terms that apply when you use our website or hire Brooklyn Rolling Gate for rolling gate repair, installation, maintenance or opener service.

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Key Points

  • Website prices are typical starting ranges. Your price is confirmed in a written estimate.
  • No extra work is done without your approval.
  • Some jobs need permits or landlord approval before work can start.
  • Manufacturer warranties are passed on to you. Workmanship warranties are stated in writing.
  • Never force a jammed gate or adjust springs yourself.
  • These Terms follow New York law.

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of brooklyn-rolling-gate.com and to the rolling gate services provided by Brooklyn Rolling Gate ("we," "us" or "our"). By using our website, submitting a request or scheduling service, you agree to these Terms.

If a written estimate, contract or invoice for specific work conflicts with these Terms, the written document for that work controls.

Our Services

We provide rolling gate repair, installation, replacement, maintenance and opener services for residential, commercial and industrial properties in Brooklyn and throughout New York City. Availability, scheduling and service areas may change, and we may decline work that we believe is unsafe or outside our expertise.

Website Information and Pricing

The information on our website is provided for general guidance about rolling gates and our services. It is not engineering, legal or code-compliance advice for your specific property.

Prices shown on our website are typical starting ranges, not offers or fixed quotes. Your actual price depends on the gate, the opening, the parts needed and the site conditions, and is confirmed in a written estimate after an on-site assessment.

Requests, Estimates and Scheduling

  • Submitting a form or leaving a message does not create an appointment or contract. An appointment is confirmed only when we confirm it with you.
  • We provide free estimates for installations and larger repair projects. If a visit fee applies to any other type of visit, we will tell you before the visit.
  • Estimates are valid for the period stated on the estimate. Prices for gates, motors and parts can change after that period.
  • Sometimes hidden damage is found after work begins, for example inside the barrel, springs or mounting. If additional work is needed, we will explain it and get your approval before doing it.
  • Appointment times are estimates. Weather, traffic, parts availability and emergency calls can affect scheduling, and we will keep you informed of changes.

Your Responsibilities

To help us work safely and correctly, you agree to:

  • Give us accurate information about the property, the gate and the problem
  • Be the property owner or have authority from the owner, landlord or manager to approve the work
  • Provide safe access to the gate, the work area and electrical power during the scheduled time
  • Tell us about any known hazards, prior damage or previous repairs
  • Keep people, vehicles and property clear of the work area while we are working
  • Stop using a gate that is damaged, jammed or unsafe until it has been repaired

Permits, Codes and Building Rules

Some rolling gate work requires permits or approvals, for example from the NYC Department of Buildings, a landlord, a co-op or condo board, or a landmarks authority. We will tell you if we believe a permit or approval is needed. Permit fees and approval times are set by others and are not within our control, and work may need to wait until approvals are issued.

Local rules can also affect which gate you may install. For example, New York City has requirements on the visibility of storefront security gates. We are happy to explain the options we offer, but the property owner or tenant remains responsible for deciding what is required for their property and lease.

Payment

  • Payment terms, including any deposit, are stated on your estimate, contract or invoice.
  • Custom-made gates, curtains and special-order parts may require a deposit before they are ordered.
  • Gates, motors and materials remain our property until they are paid for in full.
  • If payment is late, we may pause further work and apply any late charges stated on your invoice, as permitted by law.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

Please let us know as early as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Custom or special-order materials that have already been ordered may not be returnable, and their cost may be charged as stated on your estimate.

For residential home improvement work, New York law may give you the right to cancel a contract within a set period after signing. Any cancellation rights that apply will be described in your written contract.

Warranties

New gates, motors and parts are covered by their manufacturer's warranty, where one is offered. We will pass these warranties on to you and help you use them. Any warranty we provide on our own workmanship is described in writing on your estimate or invoice.

Warranties do not cover damage caused by:

  • Vehicle impacts, forced entry, vandalism or accidents
  • Misuse, forcing a jammed gate or operating a gate that is known to be damaged
  • Repairs, adjustments or changes made by anyone other than us
  • Lack of the maintenance recommended by the manufacturer
  • Normal wear, corrosion from the environment, power surges, floods, storms or other events outside our control

Except for the written warranties described above, our website and its content are provided "as is," to the extent permitted by law.

Safety

Rolling gates are heavy and can store significant spring tension. For your safety, never stand or walk under a moving gate, never let children play with gate controls, and never try to adjust or remove springs, brackets or counterbalance parts yourself. Follow the manufacturer instructions for your gate and opener, and contact a trained technician if the gate moves unevenly, makes unusual noise or stops working.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brooklyn Rolling Gate is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost profits or business interruption, arising from the use of our website or services. Our total liability for any claim related to a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New York law, including liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Use of Our Website

You may use our website to learn about our services and contact us. You agree not to send false information, spam or harmful code, try to access parts of the site that are not public, or copy large parts of the site for commercial use.

The Brooklyn Rolling Gate name, logo, text, photos and design on this website belong to us or are used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our written consent.

When you send us photos or information about your gate, you allow us to use them to provide your quote and service.

Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York, unless the law requires otherwise.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Changes do not affect written estimates or contracts that were already signed.
